four times the learning CommerCial kitChens concepts, Tesser created a warm and welcoming environment that resonates with the way people live, work and eat: café-style booths, free WiFi bars, gas freplaces, cozy chairs, and a lounge area with fat-screen TVs. The overall in-store messaging ties together Wendy's core values and brand personality with a focus on freshness. The messaging in the décor also pays homage to founder Dave Thomas, with "Quality is Our Recipe" in large-scale quotes on both interior and exterior walls. Tesser strategically designed open, light-flled spaces to let customers Sales at the newly reimaged restaurants are showing double-digit increases and continue to hold at exciting sales levels. know that Wendy's is an inviting place. Customers now have a clearer view of food preparation. And the 14-foot glass windows that surround the dining space reinforce Wendy's attention to creating welcoming hospitality. Interior digital menu boards promote contemporary messaging and tell the freshness story via media. All four concepts combine bold colors with upscale-feeling surfaces and fooring. For the Ultra Modern design concept, we selected deep brown, quartz countertops to invoke warmth and allude to richly favored food, while the red quartz countertops were chosen to reinforce the guest-centric values of the brand. Monolithic limestone that frame the windows and walls illustrate the powerful impact of natural materials; and modern wood covering the key cabinetry and wall elements creates a streamlined space. To further enhance the welcoming environment, we chose a warm grey planked foor tile, which is a fresh alternative to the over-used 12-inch grid that permeates the quick-service restaurant category. In the Contemporary concept, we brought together blonde wood walls, butcher block tables and dark woodlook foors. The ordering line captures a contemporary feeling with the counters and cabinets. 96 CommerCial ConstruCtion & renovation — September : OctOber 2013
