Just like any other business you may frequent, federal agencies
have specifc branding programs, which in most cases include logos.
In many cases, you may have sauntered into a federal establishment
and walked right over its logo – some of which are installed right on
the lobby foor.
"There is no better way to produce a perfect, longstanding and
very attractive foor logo than via the waterjet process," says Jim
Belilove, president of Creative Edge Master Shop, a world leader in
waterjet design and fabrication supplier that is celebrating its 25th
anniversary at the beginning of this year.
Belilove says the logos can be produced out of ceramic tile,
natural stone, metal, glass, terrazzo, resilient materials, and more.
And because the waterjet is a
computer-driven process, once
a design has been approved,
scanned and stored into a
computer's memory, a perfectly
cut-and-assembled logo can be
produced every time.
"No matter how many of-
fces any governmental agency
may have, its logo will always
remain perfectly consistent in
look," Belilove says.
To note, waterjet cutting is
a very "green" process. At Cre-
ative Edge, materials are cut via a tiny, high-pressure jetstream
of water, which constantly is recycled. For cutting harder, denser
materials such as natural granite, an abrasive additive consisting
of garnet powder is combined with the water. This material also
is recycled.
"Our frm has produced thousands of logos during its 25 year
history for establishments all over the world," Belilove says. "I'm
willing to say that most of them are still 100 percent intact." FC
Ron Treister is president of Communicators International, A Jensen Beach,
Fla.-based marketing frm. He can be reached at rlt@communicatorsintl.com.
