I
f you listen closely to today's commercial con-
struction executives, you will hear them talk a
lot about the pent up demand that seemed to
start bursting from the seams in 2013. Heading
in 2014, many feel the trend will continue, help-
ing pave the way for even bigger things in 2014.
During the roundtable discussion at our 2013 Commercial
Construction & Renovation retreat, the talk of an industry turnaround
was in the air. While it will still take some time to shake free from the
economic suppression caused by the most recent recession, things
are getting better.
You could call that the overriding consensus from some of the
industry leaders participating in our retreat, held at the Palomar
Hotel in Phoenix, Sept. 26-28, 2013. Along with the annual execu-
tive roundtable, attendees took part in a number of key networking
events, including a desert jeep tour and the annual one-on-one
meetings, which enable vendors and end users to talk shop in an
up close and personal setting.
The following is the first installment in the of our retreat
coverage, which includes a look at our Friday afternoon open
forum. The retreat was sponsored by Commercial Construction
& Renovation magazine.
