INDUSTRY Q&A; throughout North America, in addition to some casual expansion to our existing retail stores and outlets. What is the new normal today? I'm not sure that anything has ever been normal as far as the commercial construction industry goes. This industry is so volatile, based not only on construction and design costs, but also on the economy and what your customers want. I don't see anything being normal. The normal of the past wasn't normal until it was over with. The normal of the future won't be defined until we're further down the line. So, I really don't think there is a normal. I suppose it could be what everybody talks about today – to do more with less. So, yes, we could say that, too. That's how you have to do things today to stay competitive. I know I push my contractors as hard as I can. You could probably call that normal, because that's something I have always done. I'm always working with my contractors to keep costs Photos by Mark A.
